Default Black Eyed Peas
2010 definitely has a kicking start for The Black Eyed Peas. Not only are they in the beginning of a new tour but they also won three Grammys (among their many nominations)– for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals ("I Gotta Feeling"); Best Pop Vocal Album (The E.N.D.); and Best Short Form Music Video ("Boom Boom Pow").
“Boom Boom Pow” unfortunately brings rather mixed feelings for the band after hip-hop star Phoenix Phenom and her associate Manfred Mohr filed a copyright infringement case against the band. Phenom and Mohr claim that “Boom Boom Pow” is “virtually identical” to their “Boom Dynamite.”
The Black Eyed Peas had a similar problem last year when British DJ Adam Freeland was about to sew them for plagiarism. He claimed his song “Mancry” had too many similarities to Black Eyed Peas' 'Party All The Time'. Fortunately an out-of-court settlement was reached.
Meanwhile The Black Eyed Peas are to begin their "The E.N.D. World Tour 2010," which will be sponsored by BACARDI. The Miami-based company has created an official cocktail for the Black Eyed Peas tour called the "BACARDI V.I.Pea".
Another major company is sponsoring the US leg of the "The E.N.D. World Tour 2010." Thanks to BlackBerry this is expected to be the band’s most ambitious stage production to date. The Black Eyed Peas revealed they are intending to dazzle their fans with custom-built stage with elevators and trap doors, a brand new lighting system and video screens. Black Eyed Peas shows will have a more developed choreography and will become more of a spectacle, claim members of the band.
Some critics were unhappy with the much lighter atmosphere of The E.N.D. compared to their previous more socially aware releases. Members of the band revealed that they like to have fun, to go to clubs and dance and that’s why they try not to take life too seriously.
The fact that their album The E.N.D. reached multi-platinum status and spawned No.1 hits such as "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling" proves that The Black Eyed Peas are still on the right track and their music is reaching people.
